“’In Walked You’ [the stage production is an intriguing story] about a woman who comes face to face with the biggest challenge of her life. As she relives the days of her youth, she finds herself trapped in her own memories. When confronted with a reality that threatens her very existence, she lashes out at the ones who can help her. Loosing herself in a world of her own making is her only outlet to inner peace.”

IN WALKED YOU the stage play starring Paulette Dozier was named after the singer's 2017 jazz CD.  Playwright  Chantel Deniese, who has also holds a place in the spotlight as a singer and actress, was inspired to put a story to the song after seeing Dozier in rehearsal for one of her concerts. 

Chantel Deniese is an Entrepreneur, Artist and Writer with a natural-born passion for storytelling and a deep love for helping others. Stemming from Houston, Texas, this southern girl planted roots in Los Angeles, CA, which is where she currently resides with her family. She has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years.

 

As a Dramatist Guild member, she currently has two full productions ready for the stage. … She made her debut as a filmmaker with her new project, a short called "Emerald King," which was featured in several film festivals. Chantel is also the 2020 winner of the Black Emperor of Broadway's #ForgottenStory Contest which has allowed her to be featured in two publications, Voyage La and Shoutout LA.

Her faith in God continues to be the source of her joy and excitement in this industry.

The show was originally scheduled to debut in July at the 2020 Hollywood Fringe Festival.  But  due to the coronavirus shutdown, the festival was cancelled and so was the debut of the play.  Yet staying in sync with the virtual world of show staged online, an excerpt from the play will be performed via Zoom and Facebook LIVE December 9, 2020.  Please revisit this site for information about the 2021 LIVE Stage Performance.  SEE YOU BACK HERE SOON.
